3D Scanner System (3DSS) is a hardware and software work for converting a natural world object into 3D Model. It is an embedded system( is it? ). It uses the concepts of diverse fields such as Computer Graphics; Microcomputer based Instrumentation, Instrumentation, and Electronic Circuits.
3DSS scans any object and represents the face of the object on the computer screen. After that it can be manipulated for other purposes. The project constitutes of hardware part for scanning the orientation of the object and the software part for representing the object on the computer screen, using the results from the hardware. Hence the project is an embedded system that scans objects. As known, Computer Graphics’ implementation is seen as a rapidly growing custom in the commercial field as well as personal uses. By using the 3DSS, different natural world entities can be converted to computer compatible digital formats that can be manipulated for many future uses and references.
It plays a significant role in simulating a new system, a new product, Virtual Reality Systems, Computer Games development, modeling natural world objects in movies, advertising and Education. Architects will also be highly benefited form it. This will greatly reduce the tedious work of modeling an object by visualizing and using hit and trial logics to create 3D models.
